Client C – Decommissioning and Removal of Equipment from Client Site -- Going Above and Beyond to Avert Disaster
With our first client from 2002, ATNI developed a program to decommission and remove equipment the client displaced with new technology. Since that time, we have decommissioned and removed numerous switches and all of the different types of equipment found in central offices, cell sites, data centers, network operations centers (NOCs), call centers, and platforms manufactured by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including AT&T, Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, Tellabs, Fujitsu, Marconi, Motorola, Ascend, Cisco, Juniper, ADC, Liebert, Powerware, APC, Extreme, Ericsson, Sun, Dell, HP, NEC, Adtran, Ciena, Foundry, Paradyne, and Redback. Our process is as follows:
1) A site-visit and walk-through is conducted with the client to determine the exact scope of the project 2) A quote is prepared for the cost of the project
3) The customer signs-off on the quote and Project Summary
4) ATNI ascertains the approximate value of the materials being removed
5) Client provides ATNI with purchase order
6) ATNI prepares a Project Plan with timelines, responsibilities and tasks for internal use, and creates a site plan drawing distinctly marking the materials we are to remove
7) ATNI creates a Method of Procedure (MOP)
8) A Daily Project Status Report is provided so that the client understands the issues and exactly what has been accomplished
9) The de-installed materials are removed to the appropriate ATNI warehouse and sold or de-manufactured
10) Upon project completion, a final walk-through is conducted with the client manager
One of the greatest benefits of using ATNI is that the client can use the revenue from their portion of the sale of decommissioned equipment to off-set the cost of the de-installation and removal services.
